Maritime Evacuation Systems

Maritime Evacuation Systems, designated by MES, allow the safe, fast and efficient passengers and crew evacuation of large vessels.

These equipments are manufactured to satisfy the SOLAS requirements and they have an easy installation and operation.

Made of resistant materials like natural rubber, they can be installed in double ended ferries, catamarans, cruises or other vessels with a high number of passengers.

Some MES characteristics:

  • They can be automatic or manual: automatic operated through the bridge or manuals requiring only one or two crew members during their operation.
  • They are installed between 1.5 to 4 feets tall or at 3 to 15 feets tall, depending on the chosen model and brand.
  • These are mass evacuation systems for different evacuation heights, like in pneumatic slide, telescopic metal slide or vertical chute.
  • They may be consisted by a telescopic aluminum slide with an integrated self-righting or reversible open raft. It may also be consisted in a slide or chute junction with an integrated self-righting raft, or they can be composed for a one or several rafts aggregated with each other with an evacuation chute totally closed.
  • They are easy to operate - a single mechanism activates the system - and they are characterized by their fast operation, filling some systems in just 90 seconds, which allows an evacuation of 430 passengers in 30 minutes.
  • Some systems allow that the evacuation of passengers be totally sheltered from atmospheric conditions, which reduces the risk of trauma and damage.
  • Capacity to shelter 50 to 632, depending of the chosen model and brand
