Remote release systems allow the release of heavy objects such as rafts, mass evacuation systems or EPIRBs, among other objects that ensure the safety of crew and passengers of the vessel.
They can be installed in several types of vessels and allows saving space at the deck, once they are stored out of the way or in places with most difficulty access by crew. This also makes it possible to reduce the risks of the crew, since their activation is made by a remote control panel, whether manual or automatic, which does not require the movement to areas of difficult access.
The system is composed by a hydrostatic made in fibre glass and reinforced with nylon, resistant to salt corrosion, to rust and waterproof. It also has a remote control panel which allows to release the raft as fast as possible. They can release objects until 1700kg and is approved following the SOLAS rules and European directives.
The manual vacuum system is a short system whose maximum distance is 50 meters and is indicated for the release of a few safety equipments. Throw a vacuum bomb that is activated manually, the air is taken to the release system unit, the hydrostatic, making it to release the rafts, EPIRBs, among others. The vacuum bomb can be associated at more than one release system unit (hydrostatic) and, consequently, connected with more than one raft, all of them connected to the same bomb.
All of the system/installation is waterproof and is designed to stand adverse maritime conditions. It should be done an annual verification at the system and replace the hydrostatic every two years. |
